David Fitzpatrick
Oboe / English Horn

David Fitzpatrick is a founding member of the Incidental Chamber Players and performs regularly with ensembles including the Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh, Renaissance City Winds and the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh. He has also appeared with Resonance Works, Alia Musica, Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh, NAT28, and Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra. An avid chamber musician, David has performed chamber music concerts throughout California, Pittsburgh, and France. Additionally, he will be performing Samuel Barber’s Canzonetta with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra in April 2018.

David began teaching privately over 10 years ago and currently holds an oboe studio at Johnstonbaugh’s Music Center in Bridgeville, PA. David regularly coaches youth orchestra wind sections and woodwind chamber music ensembles. He gave a presentation and recital for the Music Teachers’ Association of California in 2015. He was also a faculty artist at Festival Amaryllis, a chamber music festival based in Mosnes, France in 2016.

As a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, David was the graduate assistant of Mrs. Cynthia Koledo DeAlmeida where he received an Advanced Music Studies certificate and Masters of Music in Oboe Performance. He received his Bachelors in Arts at the University of California, Los Angeles and California State University, Long Beach where he studied with Dr. Jonathan Davis and Ms. Carolyn Hove, respectively. He has played in the masterclasses of Katherine Needleman, Kathryn Greenbank, Jan Eberle, Christoph Hartmann, Dr. Stephen Caplan, and Elaine Douvas.

David practices hot yoga and teaches at the Yoga Factory in Pittsburgh, Washington D.C., Annapolis and Crofton.
